Zhuhai Huafa Group Co., Ltd. was established the same year as the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone. It is the largest comprehensive state-owned enterprise group in Zhuhai and a well-known leading enterprise in the country. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Modern Agriculture Demonstration Park was given an important mission at the beginning of its establishment in 2019. On the one hand, it serves as a stable supply base, “the vegetable basket” of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. On the other hand, relying on the cooperation between Hong Kong and Macau, it is deeply rooted in the Bay Area and goes global.
The project covers an area of 200,000 square meters and adopts the world’s advanced semi-enclosed smart glass greenhouse technology to tailor the growth environment for crops, and fully overcome the climatic conditions of high temperature, high humidity, and low light in the south of the Yangtze River for efficient production.
There are tomato, fruit pepper, mini cucumber, strawberry, lettuce, Chinese herbal medicine, flowers, and other categories. It can supply about 7,000 tons of clean, safe, green and high-quality healthy food to the citizens of the Greater Bay Area every year, meeting the high-end needs of consumers in Hong Kong, Macau and major cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Priva Environmental Control System
Compared with the traditional Venlo-type greenhouse, the semi-closed greenhouse with a positive pressure ventilation system can achieve more precise control of temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide concentration, and can also save energy and prevent the invasion of pests, and diseases, as well as improve crop yield. It also means that a control computer that can stably and precisely control more complex greenhouse environmental factors is required to help growers easily and fully utilize the features and advantages of semi-closed greenhouses.
Based on the real-time data collected by various sensors inside and outside the greenhouse, the Priva Connext control computer can calculate and deploy various systems in the greenhouse through a large number of algorithms to automatically control the air mixing unit, the curtain, the rotation speed of the circulating fan, the energy scheduling of the heating and dehumidification terminal, and the continuous adjustment of artificial lights to ensure that the internal environment of the greenhouse achieves the best conditions for plant growth. This also means that the temperature, humidity, light, carbon dioxide application and other factors can be adjusted according to the needs of plant growth, which can not only control the growth rate of plants, but also control the output, and realize year-round production of fruit and vegetable products in Zhuhai.
