On 30 June 2022, Masterplant Group, through the company Masterplant Italia Agricola SpA, finalized the acquisition of ltalplant’s business unit dedicated to cultivating horticultural seedlings, flowers, and nursery products.
ltalplant was established in 1985 and has since been led by Dr. Giovanni Castellani, who, over the years, thanks to his committed work and the willingness to keep improving, has allowed ltalplant to rank among the leading companies in the horticultural sector.
Masterplant was instead founded in 1984 in Italy based on the vision of industrializing seedling production and transplanting, expanding its know-how to neighboring countries and overseas.
Through acquisitions and joint ventures, it has established nurseries in Europe and the Americas to supply products and services to Italy, the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Turkey, and Japan.
With this additional acquisition, after the takeover of Parma Vivai, Masterplant Group intends to make the most of ltalplant’s existing and efficient production structure, as well as its employees’ competencies and know-how to create in Italy a highly technological hub for the production of young plants suitable to meet the needs of professional agricultural producers, the food industry, as well as for the semi-professional and the hobby markets.
