About a ton of infected peppers were brought to the Kaliningrad region from North Macedonia.

Service staff carried out quarantine control of 16 tons of vegetables from the Balkan Peninsula. The inspection found that the peppers were infected with the tomato spotted wilt virus. The presence of the disease was confirmed by the lab analysis of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Kaliningrad MVL.

Tomato spotted wilt virus is a disease that occurs in vegetables that are grown outdoors. The first symptom is a change in the shade of leaves to yellow-brown or dirty purple.
